Key Responsibilities:
Detect and Diagnose faults in engine and parts
Diagnose and test parts with the use of computers, such as Engine Scanner and OBDII
Repair or replace faulty and worn out car parts, and communicate with the Office regarding ordering of required car parts
Ensure that all cars have been properly tested before release to the Office or the customer
Dismantle and reassemble engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other mechanical components, as occasion needs
Check vehicle and diagnose basic automotive faults
Supervise the Assistant Motor Mechanic in performance of his duties, such as routine preventive maintenance service, changing of car tyres and car batteries, basic servicing, etc
Be able to explain to customers what is needed to be done and what repairs were made, when occasion calls for it
Respond to vehicle breakdown service calls during the work hours applicable, in case of emergencies
Follow workplace health and safety regulations
Ensure that workshop is kept neat and clean at all times and free of health hazards
And perform other routine mechanical tasks
Location: Upper Hutt, Wellington
Hours: 30-40 per week
Wage rate: $29.66-$32.66per hour, based on experience
Experience: 2-3 years hands on experience as a mechanic
Applicants must be willing to undergo background checks and drug testing.
