International Transport Planner
Main duties to include:
- Liaise with Sales team re planning Export/Import operations.
- Management of drivers and be knowledgeable of EU driver tachograph regulations this includes:
- Driver induction
- Driver probation review
- Driver performance review / continuous appraisal review.
- Accident / Incident management /reporting liaising.
- Communicating with drivers in a clear, concise, and respectful way.
- Communicate all information correctly to drivers in a timely manner by various system/office platforms, of shipping/collection/delivery booking references, times, and locations.
- Make all ferry/train bookings, ensuring driver receives relevant information.
- Monitor driver route progress and manage changes as necessary.
- Liaising with customers regarding time slots for collections/deliveries and informing them of any impending delays in advance.
- Basic Customs & Excise knowledge necessary.
- Strong attention to detail essential with a proactive approach to Health & Safety and driver training/upskilling.
- Management of all outbound/inbound paperwork flow.
- Ability to work closely with p/time Planning Assistant for all areas including:
- Planning Driver holiday schedule to achieve maximum potential from driver team.
- Insurance reporting
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- 2-3 years’ experience as a Transport Planner essential
- Good geographical knowledge of Ireland/UK and Europe
- Excellent communication skills and be a team player
- MS Office skills
- Experience with Move IT Platform an advantage but not necessary
- Hours of work 7.30am to 5.30pm
- Weekend cover required 1 or 2 in 4 (Sunday - 4 hours) (open for discussion)
- Subsequent Wednesday morning off in lieu
- 200 Euro paid in lieu of Sunday work
